About the Event
Description
“It would be an exotic moment
without rush”
~from “Keeping Quiet,” by Pablo Neruda
Join us for a collaboration of the arts—visual, musical, and spoken word—coinciding with Julie Shelton Snyder’s mokuhanga woodblock prints show “now we will count to twelve” in the Gallery at W83. The Center for Faith & Work’s Redeemer Writers Group will present original poetry accompanied by jazz violinist Elinor Speirs. Audience members will be given an opportunity to create poetry in response to a prompt during a wine reception.
Featured readers include Debra Ayis, Jennifer Bangs, Lyonel Laverde, Stephanie Nikolopoulos, Louiza Patsis, Rachel Printy, Lancelot Schaubert, Cristina Spataro, Ellen Stedfeld and Amelia Thompson.
The Redeemer Writers Group crafts words so that they might be light in a dark space, wildflowers breaking through cracks in the pavement, water to thirsty souls. We have been meeting monthly for close to a decade to seek the flourishing of New York City, and hold discussions, critiques, readings, and conferences.
