Inner Direction, a Poem by Stephanie Ross

sitting in this soft world to listen

my senses draw inward bringing

a blanket of quiet under a night sky

inner trail lit with gentle starry glow

I sit here _ not to lose myself

but to enter the place I truly live

to hear words of wisdom that often come

with images of humour only I can understand

to delight in the joy that there is

humour in this hard work too

within this secret language between me and my Self

messages call for naked honesty, difficult change.

heart highlights actions I would not do

without this inner galaxy propelling me forward

to carry those movements into my day

sometimes timid and wondering

yet willingness and fortitude learned

clear there is truth in the asking, necessity

in the task beyond what I can see in daily life

I move into courage with a sense of trust –

this__is the direction to take in the unmapped zone
